Utah No. 1 Pro-Business State According to Real Estate Study

Posted on:

According to a recent article in the Salt lake Tribune, and a study conducted by Pollina Commercial Real Estate, Utah has been ranked the number 1 pro-business state in the United States for 2012.  Utah has been ranked number 2 for the last three years but rose to the top spot this year based on Utah’s low taxes, strong workforce, and fiscal responsibility.  Utah is the first state west of the Mississippi to rank No. 1 on Pollina’s list.  Such placement highlights Utah’s standing in the region and potential for growth.

This news is particularly encouraging as the study was conducted by corporate real estate experts who evaluated the status of Utah’s business environment and potential growth of economic activity.

Utah Real Estate Development Rebounding

Posted on:

According to an article by the Associated Press, Utah ‘s real estate development and commercial construction industries are rebounding. Utah ranked sixth in the U.S. in 2011 for spending across all categories of commercial real estate according to the Real Estate Development Association. That’s a 20 position jump, as Utah ranked 26th in 2010.

According to the study, $3.6 billion was spent in Utah in 2011 on development and construction of office, industrial and retail buildings.  This jump was attributed, in part, to the new City Creek complex, and business buildings being built by Adobe and eBay.  The same association is also predicting that growth in Utah over the next ten years will continue to be strong.
